Wire Racks and Other Organizational Essentials
How a store is laid out and how its items are displayed is a major factor in getting customers and more importantly repeat customers. People do not want to shop at a store where they cannot find anything or if the merchandise is unorganized and disheveled. Therefore, simple organizational tools like wire racks and jewelry displays are essential to growth and profitability. It may sound like a simple concept, but the effects are strong and far reaching. Displaying items like clothing or books in a way that they are easy to sort through and browse usually increases customer satisfaction. Tactical and display decisions inside a store do not end here, however. Business owners need to direct customers precisely while they are both inside and outside of their store. A solution to this problem is using items like an acrylic sign holder Acrylic sign holders off a practical yet nonintrusive way to show customers where everything is and things they didn’t know were available.

My Girls Love Bling [Review]
I’m not sure how it happened, but it did. The person who likes, but doesn’t jewels and jewelry has two daughters who adore anything shiny. How did I give birth to two daughters who are all about bling? From the earliest days of their toddlerhood, each of the girls was enamored of necklaces, rings, tiaras, bracelets, feather boas, and anything else shiny and sparkly. At 12 and 15, my daughters love going through racks of jewelry at various mall stores. You know the stores I mean. I, on the other hand, stand in these stores clockwatching. The minutes tick by slowly in those stores I can tell you! Recently, my daughters looked through the contents of a package sent to me for review. The package held a selection of charms and charm bracelets from MOGO. My tween carefully fingered the bracelets. She reported that the fabric bands were shiny to the touch. Each bracelet had a number of silver circular disks on the outside of the band. She showed me the charm bands.

What I’m Wearing: Easy Tee
Camera tee: gift from my brother and sister-in-law Long sleeve tee: Banana Republic, Hebron Gap Outlet Cardigan: gift from Nate’s aunt, buttons replaced by me (years ago) Pants: Forever21 Boots: Nine West, Nordstrom Rack Jewelry: wedding rings, Georgia Varidakis Initial Necklace, Jes Park Key Necklace Unwashed hair, no makeup, bleary computer eyes So are you all getting sick of my dissertation-writing clothes yet? Honestly, I’m starting to feel a little like I’m stuck in a rut, as much as I love the ease of my daily uniform of comfy pants and boots. I have a big conference to attend next week; maybe that will motivate me to put a in a little more effort for the new year! I do love my new camera tee, though. A vintage camera collection on a shirt? Perfect! Another gift I received last week was a shutter remote for my digital camera. Yay .

Recession Proof your Wardrobe?
In an effort to save money (and reallocate my budget toward organic groceries) I stopped buying clothes and accessories for myself. It’s been an interesting few months as I’ve bypassed sales racks and the jewelry section all together. But I’ve saved money. Just when I was dreaming of running off to TJMaxx and going on a wild shopping spree, I got an email from them. I’m not kidding! They were offering me $50 to spend at TJMaxx and Marshalls to see if I could snag any great fashion deals. How did they know? I told you this world is a crazy place! I gotta tell you, I would have went for free. ;) Just the mere suggestion would have sent me to get my car keys. But sending me with $50 to spend was so much better. I happen to live just a few miles from both stores, so I headed out and filled up my shopping cart. I went in the dressing room over and over again with the maximum number of items. I tried on jeans, tops, shoes, scarfs, dresses, and skirts. And even though I had mad money to spend, I checked prices.
